Honda Qatar Wrap Up

2018 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters Wrap-Up

A pair on Englishmen dueled it out down the stretch at the Qatar Masters, but it was Eddie Pepperell who edged Oliver Fisher by one-stroke after a closing 70. The 27 year old notched his first career European Tour victory, moving up to 13th in the Race to Dubai standings. After starting with eight pars, Pepperell added three birdies, offset by one bogey, on the final two holes, dodging a birdie try from Fischer on the last to secure the win.

Next week, the top European Tour stars will be heading to the WGC-Mexico Championship, a co-sanctioned event. The European Tour will be in South Africa for the Tshwane Open.

2018 The Honda Classic Wrap-Up

After a tough week in brutal, windy conditions, the 2018 Honda Classic was decided in a two-man playoff. As darkness approached, Justin Thomas won his second Tour event this season, and his seventh tournament in his last 31 starts on the first playoff hole. After starting the day one shot behind the runner-up Luke List, the reigning FedEx Cup Champion fired a final round 68, making birdie on the last to force a playoff, and a birdie on 18 to defeat List in extra holes.

Tiger Woods played well, finishing solo 12th, eight shots behind.

Next week, the Tour has two stops: The WGC-Mexico Championship, as well as a now-unofficial event, the Puerto Rico Open Pro-Am.
